Introduction
Please note that each week there will be an
Assignment Building Activity in which you will carry out some of the necessary
research work to enable you to complete the Assignment. 
Assessment Brief
As an individual
student you are required to produce a report entitled:
“An Investigation into
the Impact of Business Intelligence and Information Systems on the Management
of Information and Decision Making within the Case Study Organisation”
The report should
research, critically assess and analyse the issues and challenges in the
management of information systems, the application of business intelligence,
the role of information and business analytics in supporting the development of
strategies, and the management of effective information flows within the Case
Study Organisation.
The findings should be
evaluated, and practical recommendations should be made for improvements in
information systems management, business intelligence and business analytics,
for management decision making and the management of information flow within the
Case Study Organisation.
Report Structure:
Section 1: Introduction (250 words).
Section 2: A critical assessment of contemporary issues
and challenges in the management of information systems, including big data
management, analytics, and cloud systems within the Case Study Organisation
(400 words).
Section 3: A critical analysis of the application and
impact of business intelligence within the Case Study Organisation (400 words).
Section 4: A critical analysis of the role of information
and analytics in supporting the development of strategies within the Case Study
Organisation (400 words)
Section 5: A critical evaluation of the practical
techniques used for the design and management of effective information flows
within the Case Study Organisation. (400 words)
Section 6: Recommendations for improvements in
information systems management, business intelligence and business analytics,
for management decision making and the management of information flow within
the Case Study Organisation. (400 words).
Section 7: Conclusion (250 words)
The Report should be professionally written
and produced and be 2500 words in length.
The content of your
report should be supported by the academic material contained in the module
canvas topic and by your own reading of the core textbooks referred to in the
module canvas topic. You should also demonstrate wider reading by the inclusion
of appropriate books, journals and case studies from the module recommended
reading list and other appropriate sources. All textbooks, journals and case
studies included should be referenced using Harvard Referencing.
