A. Use the Holistic theory
B. Create a Presentation You will develop a narrated PPT teaching presentation about your selected counseling theory in a way that enables students to comprehend the major constructs and application of the theory in relation to work with individuals, couples, and families.
Create a narrated PowerPoint Guide.
Include the following in your chosen counseling theory teaching presentation:
Explain the historical context of the theory and its development.
Explain the central concepts of the theory.
Define the therapeutic relationship.
Review the primary techniques of the theory.
Describe the application of the theory in relation to work with individuals, couples, and families.
Evaluate ethical considerations for accommodating diverse populations.
Provide a case example that includes conceptualization and treatment planning (high-level overview only).
Provide a way that you will assess the students as to what they have learned from the presentation and how you will assess whether your objectives have been met.
(To be presented live in class from 20-30 minutes during the Module in which that theory is studied or one assigned by the professor.) Facilitate an active experiential learning activity to engage a variety of learning styles (technique practice, role play or other activity) followed by Q&A about the theory and its application.
Your final product will be a narrated PPT teaching presentation. You should utilize 4-7 scholarly sources in your research and include them in a reference list at the end of your presentation. The length of the narrated teaching presentation will be no more than 45 minutes.
C. Assessment
Provide an appropriate assessment to determine if objectives have been met. This can be informal (verbal) or formal assessments (written quiz).
Everything should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation following APA guidelines.
