Section 3.2 – Imperialism and the Scramble for Africa As Europe grew during the Industrial Revolution, many countries sought to expand their empires and sought to obtain natural resources to help with their economic growth.  In 1870, Europe controlled 10% of Africa, take a look at this map: “Scramble for Africa”Links to an external site. By 1914, they controlled most of the continent except for Liberia, a nation that had been created for freed American slaves and Ethiopia which had fought off their invaders.  Please answer both of these questions within your posting.
