This should include a discussion of the genre’s sub-genres, periods (these are often sorted by decade or by subject matter/themes), specific/recurring character types, genre tropes, cinematography styles and techniques, etc.
While you should discuss examples (films) to illustrate your points, this should be part of a broad summary of your chosen genre—NOT an analysis or plot summary of a film or two from the genre.
