These instructions reflect a task our writers previously completed for another student. Should you require assistance with the same assignment, please submit your homework details to our writers’ platform. This will ensure you receive an original paper, you can submit as your own. For further guidance, visit our ‘How It Works’ page.

Use SketchupLinks to an external site. to build a plan of a typical Roman town of your own devising.  It must contain everything normal to a Roman town (walls, public and private buildings, etc.).  Part of this assignment, therefore, is to figure out what is “normal” to a Roman town.  (See Wheeler chapter 3).  Files must be saved JPG (if necessary, just take screen shots of the overview and the individual buildings) and uploaded in the appropriate place; all items (walls, housing districts, etc.) on the plan must be clearly marked with numbers and a key should be cut/pasted into the text entry box.  The plan can be as detailed as you like–and such detail will certainly be rewarded if accurate–but something schematic is all that is minimally expected.
Please write a one paragraph summary of what you have done and create a key so I can understand what each structure is.  You can upload this as an attachment in a word doc.
Here’s a tutorial!

Grading Criteria:  Your submissions will be evaluated as a function of (1) how many of the typical elements of the Roman City you correctly identified from Wheeler, (2) how many you include in your SketchUp product, (3) how probably it is that those elements might be found where you placed them given our other readings in Wheeler about the typical layouts of Roman Cities, and (4) how well you seem to have mastered the technology.  Your summary should explain what is typical and what is atypical (and, if so, why) in your model.
