Unit
Map Assignment Instructions
Develop a Unit Map PowerPoint, like the example provided, as an
outline of how you will integrate the natural sciences, social sciences,
Language Arts, and Bible/character education with a chosen central topic.
Your chosen central topic is very important as you will continue this
theme during the rest of the course for the following assignments: Science
Activities, Virtual Field Trip, Assessment Plan, and the Unit
Plan.
Considering your future assignments based on your central theme, the topic
should be strong enough, as it will be used for a five-week unit of instruction
incorporating all four subjects.
Each subject should have at least 3 related activities and
theme related graphics/pictures.
This is to be of such quality as to be enlarged and placed
on your classroom wall as a visual illustration of what the unit is about and
how the unit will be completed.
Additionally, develop a Comprehensive Narrative
(using the templates provided) for each of the subjects: social studies,
Language Arts, and Bible/character education. The narratives should provide the
details behind the information given on the PowerPoint slides.
If outside sources are used to create the PowerPoint or
Comprehensive Narratives, they should be included and in APA format.
Note: There should be a total of three
Comprehensive Narratives. A narrative for science is not needed at this time,
as you will develop science activities in an upcoming module.
