Important - Read this before proceeding

These instructions reflect a task our writers previously completed for another student. Should you require assistance with the same assignment, please submit your homework details to our writers’ platform. This will ensure you receive an original paper, you can submit as your own. For further guidance, visit our ‘How It Works’ page.

This exercise requires that you conduct a 15 minute role play that will be recorded. One student will play the role of the client and the other of the social worker. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge of the CBT intervention Mindel and your ability to utilize core cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with a client. Empowering clients with skills to identify, respond to, question and evaluate thoughts is a very important skill for them to develop during treatment. Teaching clients how to broaden their thinking by generating alternative or more balanced thoughts is highly effective in reducing symptoms of depression and other major psychiatric disorders. With that in mind in your role play you are required to complete a dysfunctional thought record with your client it plan and review a behavioral experiment as a homework assignment. (Competency #1 (skill), competency #6 (skill), competency #8 (knowledge)). Remember to attend to the client’s verbal and non-verbal cues (facial expressions, voice tone and fluctuations, body posture) and use interpersonal skills (empathy) to strengthen your therapeutic alliance and relationship. The therapists should demonstrate that they are present during the session. It is also important to be attuned to the client and demonstrating empathy verbally and non-verbally as warranted. Submit a 15 minute recording of your CBT counseling session along with an individual reflection on your use of skills during the session. The part above is already completed. I attached the role-play transcript below. The Analysis paper is based off of the role-play.
Analysis paper: In order to assess for Competency #1 (skill), Competency #6 (skill), and Competency #8 (knowledge), a five-page analytic paper based on your recorded session is required. Reflect on your professional use during the recorded session paying specific attention to the following :
Page 1 and 2: Students should name and define the specific CBT skill demonstrated in their recorded session , describe their clinical reasoning for implementing that specific skill with their client (page 1), and provide a summary of the existing evidence (minimum 3 references) that speaks to the effectiveness of the skill for treating the client’s depression (no more than one page) (Compentency #8 (Knowledge)). (I was thinking the specific CBT skill be behavioral experiments. By planning and encouraging Grace to engage in behavioral experiment of going to the grocery store and walking around for 10 minutes without leaving, I applied a core CBT technique.)
Page 3: Students should write one page analyzing their effectiveness at completing and teaching the CBT technique (Compentency #6 (skill)). What went well and why? What did not work and how would you address it differently in future sessions? (Competency #8(knowledge)).
Page 4: The relationship and therapeutic alliance that you develop with your client will have a profound impact on the effectiveness of the treatment. Students should. Write one page based on their role-play that describes the most effective AND the least effective moment during their session interpersonally attuned relational space with your client? What do you base this determination on? What might you do differently in future sessions, if anything? (Competency #8 (Knowledge)).
Page 5: In the final page, students must reflect on: 1) In what ways may personal values/beliefs/assumptions/biases have affected your intervention process during the session? (Half page) (Competency #1 (skill)). 2) How might issues of power, privilege, identity, and oppression have affected your intervention process during this session? (Competency #1 (skill)).
