THESIS-EVIDENCE ARGUMENT PAPER (MSAT)
Write an argumentative paper that is roughly 4 – 5 pages in length that demonstrates some type of change/evolution over time. Possible topics could fall under the following categories: religion, politics, economics, class/gender structures, slavery, legal or Constitutional issues, culture, minority rights, sectionalism, or expansion.
1. You will select a topic that involves U.S. history.
2. You will construct a thesis statement (argumentative sentence that can be proven) that both describes your topic AND demonstrates some sort of change/evolution over time. The time period needs to be at least 20 years. In addition, your time period must fall in the time frame of the course you are taking; thus,

3. You will select and use 5 primary sources (sources written or created at the time of the topic) to support your thesis, and those primary sources must demonstrate change/evolution of at least 20 years.
4. You can use secondary sources to supplement your paper, but you will still need to use 5 primary sources.
5. In your conclusion, you will comment how your topic’s concepts relate to the modern world in at least two ways.
