I have to talk about the two patients I assisted in clinicals at Dogwood Village Assisted Living. Each patient has to be listed by initials. The first patient is B.B., a 75-year-old female patient who was admitted on 5/ 30/24 and diagnosed with Parkinson’s’, type 2 diabetes, and
acute respiratory failure.  The physician ordered a regular diet excluding sugar, and her
activity was one-person assistance with a gait belt. The treatments were blood sugar
checks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and notify us if you are less than 60 or higher than 400.  O2 had to be at 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 L at bedtime. Based on my observations, this patient appeared healthy and had no history of falls. The patient was oriented with time, place, and date.
The second patient is L. J, an 87-year-old female admitted on 5/27/2024. Who
was diagnosed with Lupus, chronic pain, and dementia.  Physicians’ orders were regular
diet activity, with a 1% assist. Based on my observations, besides the occasional mild headaches when overactive, the patient’s health was good.
