The readings from our text for Module 2 describe Michael Porter’s value chain framework and related aspects of supply chain management (SCM). This discussion will identify real-world digital capabilities in SCM.
In your initial post, provide the following information:
Select a company that interests you from Figure 1 in the report, Supply Chain Top 25. Select a company that has not already been selected, and do not select #13 Inditex (the parent company of Zara). To “lock in” your selection, start a new thread with just a subject line containing the name of your selection. You can then go back later and post your content as a reply in the thread you started.
Once you have reserved your company, go back into your thread and post a clear and concise summary of one SCM digital capability in use at your selected company, e.g., a use of digital technology that has the potential to deliver operational efficiency, quality, agility, or responsiveness.
The report by Hippold (2022) cited below gives more examples of SCM digital capabilities. Please be sure the subject line for your post includes the name of the company you have selected. Provide an APA citation (Author, A. (date). Title. https://url) to at least one supporting, reputable, business-oriented reference (for example, material on the company’s website or a reputable business publication, but not Wikipedia) other than these Gartner reports and other than our course materials. Maximum points will be awarded for posts that relate the digital capability to Porter’s Value Chain Framework.

Post a response to at least one of your colleagues, noting overlaps or linkages between the companies covered in your original posts (for example, company A is a supplier to company B—their approaches do or do not align; companies C and D are trying to achieve similar goals, but C is emphasizing approach X and D is emphasizing approach Y).
