The lab assignments will give each student the opportunity to describe the characteristics of jail/prison populations using information provided by local and federal reporting agencies.
For lab assignment #1 students are to visit an inmate locator site and identify 10 individuals who are detained at local, state, or federal facilities.  Students are to report the name, age, ID #, security level, and the name of the correctional facility for each inmate.  Students will offer a description of the facility that each inmate is housed.  This search can be conducted via the department of correction in most states. Begin with inmate #1.
