Students individually or in groups of 2 will write a paper on an issue with profound effect on society. The selected topic should be given to the professor for approval by Saturday of Week 2. You will report what the selected topic is about, problems related to the subject, treatments/cures available, and its effect on the society/world. You will use global statistics, demographics, and discuss the challenges to maintain good life/health in a challenging environment. Find a country where the problem prevails and report the conditions that promote the problem. Also, mention the steps taken by the local government to eliminate the situation/problem. Examine the demographics, socio-economics, politics, and education in that country. This project helps students improve their inquiry skills, be sensitive to other cultures, and become aware of issues regarding the world.
The paper must be typed and composed of text (at least 5 full pages), plus title, and citation pages (total of 7 pages). The distance from one paragraph to the next should be one double space. The title page content should not be on page 1. Lack of title page and/or citation page results in the deduction of 10 points for each missing page. Submission of Research Paper with less than 5 pages text results in the deduction of 25 points per missing page.
