Select lectures will have one or more associated readings (scientific articles, book chapter, and/or government report – distributed via email and/or iCollege). Each student (individually) will be asked to select onedesignated lectures (via iCollege) and provide a summary and 3 – 5 questions to ask the guest lecturer for the topic associated with the reading. The summary should be about one-half to one page and should briefly summarize the topic and objective of the reading, methodology (if an empirical article), conclusions, and what particularly about the reading intrigued the student. The questions generated should be sparked by the reading but should not be about the reading itself (do not assume the guest lecturer is familiar with the reading). Rather, the questions should pertain to the topic, find the right balance between general and specific, and be open-ended. At least one question should be framed to seek more information about the UK. Select questions will be shared with guest lecturers to address during class.
