You are answering the question, “Do you think Barry’s article (written in 1998) is still humorous to a 2024 audience? Why or why not?” You will give 3 reasons why you believe that it is funny or that it is not funny. You must provide quotations from the text AND explanations of those quotes in your essay to support your argument. You may NOT argue that it is both funny and not funny.
You will need to write an introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Introduce your topic to your reader and be sure to provide any necessary information they will need to further understand your evaluation. You will then provide the criteria by which you plan to evaluate this article. Be sure to include textual evidence and reasons to support your evaluation. You will need to state your thesis in the introduction. Make sure that each paragraph has a topic sentence and use transitions to guide your reader through your evaluation as smoothly as possible. You do not need to use any formatting other than to use a 12-point, Times New Roman font, double-spaced document. You will also need to include a reference for the Barry article. I have provided it for you in the “Evaluation” folder.
