Important - Read this before proceeding

These instructions reflect a task our writers previously completed for another student. Should you require assistance with the same assignment, please submit your homework details to our writers’ platform. This will ensure you receive an original paper, you can submit as your own. For further guidance, visit our ‘How It Works’ page.

Purpose:
The goal of this activity is to observe a ‘cultural scene’ for 25 minutes and take notes as an anthropologist would (i.e. based on everything you have learned in the course to-date). You will submit a worksheet (attached) about your observations.
During this people watching activity, start to think about concepts that you’ve learned in class that fit with your observations. Be sure to take really detailed notes about the scene itself and the individuals and groups in the scene because you will use and build on this information in Week 5 to complete the assignment due that week.
Directions: Use Attached Worksheet
Choose a time and location where you can observe a cultural scene with multiple people (mall, public transportation, coffee shop, etc.).  Quietly observe people for 25 minutes and simply watch what is going on. Do not talk to or interview people during this time.
B. Collect field notes (handwritten recommended).
C. Fill out and submit the attached worksheet.  Your completed worksheet will include information about:
Location
Time of day
Scenery (for example- lighting, furniture, plants, sounds, temperature, smell, vibe/energy, etc.).
Details about the people in the scene (their characteristics, their behavior).
Reflection about what this activity was like for you.  What was it like to observe others, now that you’re learning about anthropology?  Was this different than people watching you engaged in before starting this class?
