Project Title: Reproductive Outcomes of Egg Donors using Subdermal Etonogestrel Implants or Levonorgestrel Intrauterine Devices.
Format: Clinical/Basic Research Paper
Project Abstract: This retrospective cohort study will compare controlled ovarian stimulation cycles in oocyte donors using contraceptive devices (either a subdermal implant or intrauterine device releasing Levonorgestrel) or none (contro group). The primary outcome evaluated will be the ovarian response, measured by the oocyte retrieval rate (number of COC retrieved divided for the number of follicles > 14mm the day of the last follicular control) and the oocyte maturity rate (number of MII divided for the number of COC retrieved). Additionally, the study will evaluate the following secondary outcomes: pregnancy rate (defined as a positive hCG test measured 14 days after the embryo transfer), clinical pregnancy rate (fetal heartbeat observed at 7th week of gestation) and ongoing pregnancy rate (fetal heartbeat observed at 12nd week of gestation). The sample size will be determined by the number of consecutive cycles that accomplish the study inclusion criteria (donors using contraceptive devices, either a subdermal implant or intrauterine device releasing Levonorgestrel) within the timeframe of the study (March 2021-September 2023). A propensity matching score will be performed based on age, BMI, anti-Mullerian hormone and antral follicle count to select controls (oocyte donors that did not use a contraceptive during COS) within the study period.
I am sending you attached the anonymized database for the study, in case you want to start doing the demographic tables
