Murder on a Sunday Morning Application Paper
In addition to reading and thinking about the course material, an important part of the learning process includes applying these concepts to your own life and the world we live in. To facilitate this process, you will watch the documentary “Murder on a Sunday Morning” and write an application paper.
Your paper should identify and discuss 4 factors from our Psychology of Law course that contributed to the defendant, Brenton Butler, being wrongfully charged and tried for the crime of murder.
These factors can be interogations & confessions, Lie detection, forensic science, eyewitness ID & testimony, plea bargaining, jury selection, & trial procedures, death penalty, juries & judges, and insanity defense.  Each factor must include two components:
(1) Describe and explain the factor by incorporating information from your textbook( forensic and legal psychology 4th edition by mark costanzo), articles, lecture, or other course materials
(2) Explain how that factor played a role in Brenton Butler’s case by describing facts and information presented in the documentary.
Your paper should be typed, 5 to 7 pages in length, and double-spaced with 1 inch margins.
