Intercultural Competence: Common Signature Assignment, RESEARCH POSTER
Intercultural competence is the ability to develop targeted knowledge, skills, and attitudes that lead to visible behavior and communication that are both effective and appropriate in intercultural interactions (Deardorff, 2006). Critical thinking and reflection become important tools on the journey toward achieving Intercultural knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

The goal of a research poster is to share information and to add new depth and understanding to the audience’s repertoire of knowledge of cultural competence.

Thesis framework: What are the
stereotypes, misconceptions, and media representations that shape the negative
views between Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking individuals, and how do
these perceptions impact interracial relations? This question is
significant to consider because by exploring these negative views, we can
uncover the underlying factors that perpetuate cultural misunderstandings and
tensions. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for fostering more inclusive
and harmonious interactions and for developing strategies to combat prejudice
and promote cultural appreciation.
