You will be creating a narrated PowerPoint for this assignment that is 12-15 slides in length. Here are the guidelines:
You will select one (1) general surgery surgical procedure for this PowerPoint presentation. If you are not sure the procedure you will be focusing on is adequate, please seek guidance from your instructor.
Select four (4) instruments from your kit and the corresponding flashcard from the pack that would be used in the surgical procedure you chose to assist you. Take a photo of each instrument with the associated flashcard and use these images (you will have four) in your PowerPoint.
Include additional images (such as anatomy) if they are relevant to the surgical procedure.
In your narration:
Explain briefly the surgical procedure you selected: what it is called, what it is for, and the basic anatomy involved.
Describe the surgical instruments you are focusing on, name function/category, and how it is used for this procedure. For example: if the category is cutting/dissecting, then explain what specific types of tissue (bowel, blood vessels) or material (suture) it would be cutting.
Also, describe specific areas of importance for inspection of this instrument, as this relates to how the sterile processor will maintain the safe functionality of the instrument.
Your presentation should have a title slide and APA formatted in-text citations and a references slide.
If you prefer to record a video of yourself presenting, rather than doing a voiceover for each slide, you may create a video and upload to YouTube. Please be sure to submit your PowerPoint into the assignment and add your YouTube link in the comments
