How not to be boring? Give vivid examples using active verbs and sensory detail.
1. Three favorite stories from this video. Summary is not necessary–just name the stories. In bullets of one sentence each, list 1) why you liked each story and How might they apply to your life and or goals?
Example:
“Story: Classroom gifts
I was always picked last for volleyball teams, and I still panic when it’s time to team up for groups in school.
Like Jia decided to stop being haunted by the gift experience, I want to get over volleyball trauma.”
2. Jia experienced a unexpected kindness in his quest.

b. In a paragraph, tell about a time a stranger was kind to you.
3. In a paragraph, tell about a time you were kind to a stranger.
Tell little stories with some detail, like Jia did, so your reader (me) can see the scene.
4. Tell about a time you lost an opportunity because you feared rejection.
