Before addressing the Written Response Questions:
In Chapter 1, you will find the descriptors of the biological, learning, cognitive, or sociocultural perspectives in the first chapter.  Psychological scientists often approach questions differently, depending on whether they take a biological, learning (behavioral), cognitive, or sociocultural perspective. Consider how these influences interact to make us who we are. Take, for example, questions surrounding what type of student you are.
Written Response Questions:
2.  Explain whether you someone who is mostly confident in your abilities or often has to overcome self-doubt.  I understand you may be confident in certain areas while having self-doubt in others, but if you had to pick one, which would be – confident or self-doubt?   Explain your thinking behind that and mention a couple of examples you are willing to share to support this.
3.  Answer one of these questions and then consider where this personal tendency of yours comes from:
Do you like speaking up in class or prefer remaining quiet? Do you enjoy or worry about the pressure of taking tests? Do you prefer traditional face to face classes or online classes?
After you chose and answered one of those questions, explain your thoughts and feelings when you go against your conform zone.  For example, if you prefer to remain quiet in class, explain your thoughts and feelings when you are put in a position to speak up.
4.  Do you think the explanation for what type of student you are is best provided by a biological, learning (behavioral), cognitive, or sociocultural perspective? In your own words (no copy/pasting), describe the perspective you chose.  Then explain what made you chose that perspective as the best explanation of you as a student.
5.  Given what you have written about for items #2 to 4, what would be a good goal for you?  Then explain what makes this a good goal.  How would you know when you met that goal?
Your analysis needs to be saved and submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx) or a Wordpad Rich Text Format (.rtf) document. To summarize:
Your paper must be typed, double-spaced, and written in Times New Roman 12 pt. font.
Your paper should have 1-inch margins all around.
Paragraph indents should be no more than 1/2 inch.
If you use a header, use only one line.
Your paper should have a properly formatted cover page.
Your paper must be longer than one page in length in content (1 1/2 to 2 is typically good!).  Name, date, title, work cited are additional and do not count as content.  Also, do not number it, make bullet points, or rewrite the questions.
Your paper should be mostly your own words. If you are using someone else’s words, then you need to use quotes, give credit, and connect it to your message. If you paraphrase someone else’s words, then you need to give credit and connect it to your message. For this paper to be scored, no more than TWO (2) sentences can belong to someone’s published work (quoted or paraphrased).
Be sure to properly CITE ALL SOURCES USED at the end of your paper on its own Reference page.
