(CHAPTER 6-7)

Hector St. Jean de Crèvecœur Describes the American people, 1782

Write a short (300-500 word) essay that identifies 3 ways in which de Crevecoeur describes Americans as being the same, or key common experiences that he identifies the majority of Americans had at the time of his writing.
Next, write a second short (300-500 word) essay that identifies at least 2 fractures that were identified within early American society by the time of de Crevecoeur’s writing in 1782. A fracture in society, for the purposes of this essay, should be understood as, “a division in society that causes groups to disengage with one another or to be antagonistic towards one another”. Your essay should clearly identify what these fractures were, who they affected, and how the groups involved were affected. Use only evidence from chapters 6 and 7 of The American Yawp  and cite correctly.
Finally, record a brief video reflecting on the following questions. (Note: the video portion along with submitting a photo ID are used for identity verification and are required for passing the course):
What factors de Crevecoeur identified as making a person American in the late 18th century.
Do you agree with these factors as identified at the time? To what extent are they still accurate now, over 200 years later?
Which of the fractures identified in American society from the evidence in Chapters 6 and 7 of The American Yawp were the most significant/important and why?
Please Just write the answers for the following questions.
