Compare/Contrast 
We have been looking at Modernism and Science Fiction. For this essay you will select two of the works we have covered in class to create a Compare and Contrast Essay. All of the selections are posted in the modules for you to revisit. You may also want to revisit the assignments you completed on the works, as well as the Power points. The pieces are:
Apollinare’s- The Little Car
Vonnegut’s- 2BR02B
Wack’s- Enthusiasts of Ruin
You will want to consider the following when planning the content and analysis of your paper:
How Modernism and Science Fiction came about
Themes common to Modernism and Science Fiction ( the universal, making things new, sincere search for meaning, progressive thought, What if? questions about technology and social structures, new ways of thinking and living in a Modern age, among others). 
Consider imagery, writing style, use of metaphor and symbolism, juxtaposition, writing structure, tone.
Structure of your paper:
Intro- Include historical information on Modernism or Science Fiction (or both), depending on your choices. Narrow your topic by introducing the two pieces being examined, end with a thesis statement.
Body Paragraphs- focus on one topic per paragraph. Compare and Contrast (similarities and differences) the (writing styles, imagery, metaphor/symbolism, themes, tone).
How and Why they are similar or different
Cite quotes and paraphrasing from the two selected texts and explain your analysis.
Include two outside sources that support your analysis.
Conclusion- Summarize your best points, comment on Modernism and or Science Fiction.
MLA style using in text citation and a Works Cited page.
