Each student will submit two article critiques (see the
course schedule for due dates). The first article must focus on a theoretical
approach to the treatment of addictions (e.g., SBIRT, Motivational
Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Group Therapy, Pharmacotherapy,
12-Step Facilitation, etc.).  The second
critique must be an empirical study (e.g., primary study,
meta-analysis) that focuses on the effectiveness of treatment of addiction using
one of the evidenced based treatments above or in your textbook. The articles must come from professional
journals. The critiques should be four pages in length (double
spaced). The formats for the two article critiques are below.
