During the semester, we will cover a variety of people, places, themes, and events related to American History. For extra credit, write a movie review of a historical film focused on the period our class covers (1400-1877). After watching the film, you will write a review regarding things like its entertainment value, production, historical accuracy, etc.
Follow the format suggested by Duke University’s Writing Studio: https://twp.duke.edu/sites/twp.duke.edu/files/file-attachments/film-review-1.original.pdfLinks to an external site.
Reviews must be between 800-1,000 words, double-spaced, 12-point Arial font. Include MLA parenthetical citations when referencing the film. A maximum of 10 points is possible.
Students who plagiarize or use artificial intelligence will not receive credit. They will go through the student misconduct procedures.
