Provide a synopsis, or summary, of your choice of media object for context.
Synopses should include a brief overview of the show/film/song/book’s plot and overarching themes.
Apply at least two (2) criminological theories that you feel may be relevant to the media that you have selected.
This should include a brief overview of the relevant theory [ie. name(s) of foundational theorist(s) and a succinct description of the major tenets of the theory].
Connection of these theories to at least two (2)characters/scenarios/etc. featured within the article of media that you have chosen to analyze.
The relevance of the theories can be either:
implicit (ie. the significance must be derived from analyzing the subtext within the media object),
or explicit (ie. the media object showcases overtexamples of the theory/concept)
You can also use these theories to critique the display of criminology/criminal justice/deviance featured within the media object.
A conclusion that succinctly summarizes what you did + connects key analytical points featured within the body of the paper to your overarching thesis.
Papers should fully respond to all prompts, and must be a minimum of four (4) pages. You must cite the sources of all externally derived information, including your choice of media object + references to course materials. All citations must be in APA format.
