Below are the questions that have to be answered for this essay:
Place Langston Hughes’ work within the context of Modernity and explain how ideas and/or historical realties from the units on Africa and the Enlightenment informed it.
To answer this question, you’ll need to:
explain the characteristics of Modernity,
describe and explain at least one of Hughes’ works,
point to evidence from the primary source document excerpts assigned in the course,
analyze the ways in which Hughes’ work was shaped by and conveys Modernity’s ethos,
identify and explain characteristics of the two other eras that informed aspects of Modernity that shaped Hughes’ work,
point to evidence from the primary source documents from both other eras,
and analyze the connections between these eras and Hughes’ work.
Note: I had to provide a sourcing outline prior to the suspense of this essay. If you find additional resources (from the ones I provided you), then it must be added to the appropriate box within the outline with an explanantion as to why it was added. If you do not use one from my sourcing outline in the essay, then an exmplanation for not using that source needs to be provided as well in that box. Each era on the sourcing outline must have at least 4 different recources (again all the attachments I provided you with).  I am not allowed to use external resources, just the ones I provided you with.
I paid for a citation “add on”, but I expect the sourcing outline to be used for that piece. I marked “10 sources” are needed, but as long as the essay meets criteria and so does the sourcing outline (in Chicago Style), then I do not have a preference.
